Process and Progress.
Not so long now until my website and rebrand is ready. After much deliberation it’s great to have a finished logo and also to be in the process of making work for my own site, like these two below.
As with most maker/designers we do the bulk of the ‘other’ work involved in running a business ourselves and that includes making a website. I wanted to give it a go, especially as this has been a long time in the planning. It only felt right to be ‘hands on’ (typical maker!). If you followed me on this years ‘March meet the maker’ over on Instagram you will know I love to learn. But where to start?
I enrolled on a four day course in wordpress here (perfect for anyone in Cornwall). I applied for funding for a photography workshop and I was also lucky enough to get it (more on that later). I am getting there I think. Muddling through, learning as I go. It takes time as learning always does and I can’t say I am great at sitting still for hours at a time on the computer. But I do love being able to manage how my website looks and feels right down to the smallest details.
I am however looking forward to getting back full time into my workshop in the woods, where I feel like I really belong – quietly sawing away and and sticking to my real (dream) day job.
