Not quite there.

This is what’s on (and also what isn’t).  I am a little behind with blog posts.  Originally I meant to do one post a month but as with all things sometimes a bit of extra time is pushed in other directions.  I don’t know about you but one way or another life tips the scales in one direction a little more heavily and if you don’t follow willingly it can be likely you will slide anyway.  Sometimes I find it is just better to go with it and then figure out how to readdress the distribution once you have topped up what is lacking. I spend a lot of time searching for the secret of balance, rarely finding equilibrium and I suspect most people are similar.  Though, if you have found the magical balancing act please do share(?). (Pretty please?)

So, blog posts (and a few other domestic chores – I make you close your eyes if you come into my place) may have gone temporarily awry but I have been spending a bit of extra time making (pieces like this one pictured right).

Good reasons though. Honest.

What’s on – I have a small flurry of shows happening, I said I was going to do maybe one of two a year back here but this year I am actually doing three (so far, so good).  

The first is Open Studios Cornwall, which is more of an arts trail than a show.  It is happening in less than a w(eek!). I am excited to be sharing studio space with ceramicist Laura Lane and artist and print maker Eleanor Russell-Hsieh

Open Studios Cornwall 2019 will run from Sat 25th May – Sun 2nd June 2019 and we are open every day from 10am.  If you do find yourself down this way please do come and say hello.  Address below.

Personally I love arts trails, I think they feel a bit like a treasure hunt of people and lovely things. 

Narrative Arts fair taking place in St Austell too on the weekend of 25th of May. It really does look very good and whilst I am not showing there, it could be a great place to start or end the trail if you are coming on the weekend.

Just one more

Then on a bit of a wave I also applied and got in to Native Makers taking place on the 22 and 23rd of June 2019 – I am very much looking forward to this one.  It’s in Ocean Studios in Plymouth.

A show curated by makers for makers which I always think is just the way to go.  In their forth year year running and over 60 makers.  So I know it’s going to be a goodun’.  

I am staying fairly close to home this year with one more show coming up in September but more on that later…

Where am I?

For now you can find me in my workshop for the most part six and sometimes 7 days a week and emerging each evening blinking in the sunlight but in the next week you know where you also might find me.  With a lovely bunch of treasures.

From A38 at Dobwalls, head towards Duloe and Looe, past school and football pitch on left; over railway bridge. Drive for about 1 mile and you will come to a crossroads with stone cross, continue straight. Scawns is next right and we are first on the right.
